A group of our participants regularly attend the Fit 4 All program at Cannington Leisureplex, where they enjoy staying active, building confidence, and connecting with others in a fun and supportive environment. Accompanied by their support workers, participants are encouraged to improve their physical wellbeing while developing social connections and enjoying new experiences together.
This week was especially exciting for Amanda, who attended Fit 4 All for the very first time. Amanda embraced the experience with enthusiasm, enjoying the activities, meeting new people, and beginning to build new friendships. It was wonderful to see her confidence grow as she participated in the program and challenged herself to try something new.
Fit 4 All is a specialised fitness, games, and activities program designed for people with intellectual disabilities and their support workers. The program focuses on improving fitness, strength, balance, and coordination through a variety of engaging activities, including exercise circuits, ball skills, gym-based activities, gymnastics equipment, and adaptive sporting equipment provided by the WA Disabled Sports Association.
Beyond the physical benefits, the program provides a safe and welcoming social environment where participants can build self-esteem, develop confidence, and strengthen meaningful connections with their peers. Activities are designed to be inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible for participants of all abilities.
At 4lifeskills, we believe that maintaining an active lifestyle is an important part of overall wellbeing. Programs like Fit 4 All provide valuable opportunities for participants to improve their health, challenge themselves, and engage with their community in a positive and encouraging setting.
We are proud to support our participants as they continue to build confidence, create friendships, and achieve their personal goals — one activity at a time.
