At 4Lifeskills, we’re passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities to gain real-world experience, build independence, and feel confident in their community. That’s why our regular fundraising events at Bunnings are about so much more than sizzling sausages—they’re opportunities for growth, connection, and skill-building.

Every time we host a sausage sizzle at Bunnings, our clients take center stage. They’re not just helping out—they’re actively participating in meaningful activities that build essential life skills. From handling money at the till to greeting customers with a smile, every moment is a chance to learn and grow.

Here’s what our clients gain from the experience:

  • Money Handling: Clients take on the responsibility of giving change, managing payments, and keeping track of sales—developing confidence and numeracy in a busy, real-world setting.

  • Customer Interaction: Greeting and serving customers helps our clients practice communication and social skills in a friendly, supportive environment.

  • Hygiene and Food Safety: From wearing gloves to safe food preparation and cleaning up, we reinforce the importance of hygiene and health standards.

  • Cooking Skills: Clients get hands-on experience with cooking tasks such as prepping onions, turning sausages, and assembling orders—skills they can take home and use daily.

  • Teamwork and Social Skills: Whether it’s collaborating with peers or chatting with community members, these events are perfect for building friendships and confidence.

These fundraisers are a great way for the community to support the work we do while seeing the capabilities and strengths of people with disabilities firsthand. Every dollar raised helps us continue to provide quality support services—and every smile shared at the stall reminds us of the power of inclusion.

So next time you see the 4Lifeskills team at Bunnings Maddington, stop by, grab a sausage, and say hello. Your support makes a difference—and you’re helping build a stronger, more inclusive community, one snag at a time.
