At our hub, we are proud to share a meaningful initiative led by Corina and Katie, who have been providing ongoing support to Leila over time. Recognising the importance of accessible communication, they developed and facilitated a sign language workshop designed to support not only Leila, but everyone in the hub community.

The purpose of this workshop is to create a practical and inclusive communication tool that allows staff, participants, and peers to better connect with Leila in her daily environment. By introducing simple and useful sign language skills, the team has helped build a more supportive and understanding space where communication barriers are reduced, and inclusion is strengthened.

This initiative reflects the true value of person-centred support, where individual needs inspire positive change that benefits the wider community. It is also a great example of staff collaboration, creativity, and commitment to ensuring every participant feels seen, heard, and included.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by Corina and Katie, and of the positive impact this workshop continues to have within our hub.
