Exciting Announcement: 4LifeSkills Expands to the North!

For over 30 years, 4LifeSkills has been a trusted provider of essential services to the areas south of the river, helping individuals build independence and life skills. With the increasing demand for our services and the support of the community, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re expanding our services to the North, broadening our reach to support even more people on their journeys to independence and empowerment.

We will be offering the following supports for anyone joining our family:

Core Supports:

  • Community & Social Participation: We offer a variety of activities to help individuals engage in both local and broader community life.
  • Skills Building: From life skills and independence training to social skills, we support individuals in areas such as cooking, transportation, budgeting, safety, and more.
  • Transition to Independent Living: We provide in-home supports like meal planning, shopping, home maintenance, budgeting, and help with personal appointments.
  • Short-Term Accommodation (STA) Support: Our mini gateways focus on supporting individuals as they transition to independent living.
  • Evening Socials: Building sustainable friendships and social connections within the local community.
  • Weekend & Public Holiday Supports: We’re here to help throughout the week, including weekends and holidays.

Capacity Building Supports:

  • Employment Supports: We assist individuals in finding and maintaining employment, including customized employment opportunities and support for school leavers.
    • Discovery Process: Identifying interests, strengths, and skills to match individuals with the right job.
    • Profile Building: Resume writing, interview role-play, job research, and more.
    • Skill Development: Volunteer placements, vocational courses, and workshops to build essential skills.
    • Workplace Assessments: Crafting induction plans with employers to ensure success.
    • Career Pathway Co-Design: Helping individuals find the right job or even start their own microenterprise—”Be Your Own Boss!”
